Eminem – Kamikaze | Album Review

Kamikaze – Eminem

Kamikaze. By far one of my favourite recent Eminem albums. It’s a perfect length project with a perfect meaning to it. Essentially Eminem created this album after the flop of his previous one: Revival. He’s said in interviews that Kamikaze wouldn’t have existed if Revival wasn’t made. He’s known for his angry sounding lyrics and delivery but for me Kamikaze contained tracks with a far different level of rage within them. From dissing artists such as MGK, Iggy Azalea, Lil Pump, Lil Xan and Tyler, the Creator. Eminem has used this as a platform to isolate himself from modern day rappers and their style of hip-hop (which he hates). Despite this, he acknowledges how some people may like rappers such as Lil Yachty in the first song of the album The Ringer:

‘I CAN SEE WHY PEOPLE LIKE LIL YACHTY, BUT NOT ME THO
NOT EVEN DISSIN’, IT JUST AIN’T FOR ME’

The features within this album include Joyner Lucas and Royce da 5 ‘9. Jessie Reyez is also included on two songs: Nice guy & Good Guy. These are not as lyrical as the other tracks on the album and can be seen as a bit more playful and silly.
